Architectural Shingle vs Tile: Which Is Right for Your Prescott Home

Both work in Prescott. The choice usually comes down to your existing roof, your budget, and how long you plan to stay.

Architectural shingles cost less up front and run about 25 to 30 years. They handle wind well and look great on most Prescott home styles. We install GAF, Owens Corning, IKO, and Malarkey.
Concrete and clay tile cost more but the tile itself can outlast the house. The catch: the underlayment under the tile fails every 20 to 25 years, so a tile roof needs a re-felt about once per generation. Worth it if you love the look.
