Underlayment is the actual waterproof layer on every roof. When it fails, the roof leaks. Call or text 928-848-2060 for a free inspection with photos of what's actually under your tile.

Shingles and tile take the UV beating and shed most of the rain. But the layer under them (felt or synthetic underlayment) is what actually keeps water out. If the underlayment is intact, you don't leak. If it's torn, dried out, or missing, you do.

For shingle roofs the underlayment is replaced as part of a full roof replacement. There's no efficient way to swap just the underlayment without tearing off the shingles.
